Every month on Talking Tracks, we interview local artists about their latest drops — song by song. It’s a little bit like a curated Spotify playlist, except way more in depth, and it’s all the people who live right in our city. In each episode, you’ll get to listen to the full album or EP right alongside the artist’s inspiration behind the tracks.
Bellingham power-pop quartet LipStitch — vocalist Amanda Hodgins, guitarist Chris Williams, bassist Danielle LeBeau, and drummer Bryan Hunter — released their debut full-length album, Who’s Left and Who’s Leaving, on September 4, 2020. In this episode of Talking Tracks, Dan and LipStitch break down the meaning behind and the making of each song on the album — a journey through grief, depression, and the value of self-love written primarily in 2018 but exceptionally appropriate for 2020. As the band says on track four, “It’s been a tough year.”
