With the increasing restrictions due to COVID-19 placed upon businesses, many restaurants have opted for take-out and delivery options in order to stay afloat. Supporting local eateries is one of the easiest ways to help out while still abiding by public safety measures, so we asked local artists to share their favorite quarantine eats in the greater Seattle area. Below is a list of restaurants open (as of publication) during these difficult times, recommended by the regulars themselves.

Briley’s BBQ and Grill
Lake City, (206) 466-1589
“I lived in the south for 10 years, and this is hands-down the best bbq I’ve had anywhere in Seattle. Pit beef or pulled chicken all day, with spicy bbq sauce please!” – Nate Louis (Blade Palace)

Taqueria El Gallo Diaz
Shoreline, (206) 898-2782
“Taqueria El Gallo Diaz in Shoreline is an unassuming taco tent located next to a gas station around Aurora and 165th. Don’t let the outside fool you: This is some of the best Mexican food in Shoreline. I recommend the enchiladas rancheras. There are plenty of meat options, but I prefer the carnitas (though their tacos with birria are incredible). I would recommend this place to anyone in the Shoreline area, because El Sabor has nothing on El Gallo.” – Dylan Jackson (Beast Folk)

Jai Thai
Fremont, (206) 632-7060
“Jai Thai is the best Thai food in Fremont (and the people there are so sweet).” – Brennan Moring (Peyote Ugly)

Carnitas Michoacan
Beacon Hill, (206) 323-3688
“Carnitas Michoacan on Beacon Hill is top notch.” – Jordan Tan (The Whags)

Jade Garden
International District, (206) 622-8181
I love to grab dim sum to go from Jade Garden. The pan-fried green beans are also my number one addiction.” – Kelly Fleek (The Spider Ferns)

Highline Bar
Capitol Hill, (206) 328-7837
If we’re talking vegan food in Seattle, I love Highline Bar. Their deep fried oreos and their buffalo chik’n. It’s been a really fun place to see shows and meet other musicians, too. I’ve always wanted to play there, and I hope we’ll all still get a chance to enjoy the vibe.” – Jonny Barrett (Cashing in Karma)

Jack’s BBQ
SoDo, (206) 467-4038
I love getting takeout from Jack’s BBQ in SoDo. They are generous with their portions, and everything is packaged securely. Tender ribs and juicy brisket are a favorite at my house!” – Rani Weatherby (Champagne Honeybee)

Teriyaki Madness
Wallingford, (206) 545-7810
“Teriyaki Madness on 45th. Best spicy chicken in Seattle! Always consistent, and the whole crew that works there is fabulous!” – Richard Laqueur (Wrong Way at the Roundabout)

Taqueria Los Potrillos
White Center, (206) 578-7416
“Taqueria Los Potrillos in White Center. Everybody’s always talking about the White Center taco truck, La Fondita — and they’re good — but for my money, Los Potrillos is where it’s at. Their carnitas are always crispy, never wet. The salsa is excellent. And they have a hot glass case full of tortilla chips you can just scoop out whether dining in or out (not the best idea during coronavirus, but usually quite nice).” – Aaron Semer

Mr. Gyro’s
Wallingford, (206) 535-8841
“My go-to is either the chicken shawarma salad or falafel salad with baba ghanoush. They’ll roast the chicken shawarma with tomato, so it always comes out real flavorful! Two sides of garlic sauce is a must. The staff are all really nice people, too. They always go above and beyond to make sure everything’s good.” – Nate Louis (Blade Palace)

24 Star Thai
Lynnwood, (425) 742-9155
“If people are way North, 24 Star Thai has the best coconut ice cream you will ever have. Ever. Guaranteed. Their entrees are also great, but don’t leave without that ice cream.” – Anthony Phillips

Ramen Danbo
Capitol Hill, (206) 566-5479
I’d like to give Ramen Danbo on Capitol Hill some love for a few reasons. 1) They’re some of the best ramen I’ve ever had, including in Japan. 2) There’s only a few locations in the world — we’re lucky! 3) They never did takeout before, but now they are improvising, and I want to support.” – Blake Madden (Hotels, Purple Mane)

The Kraken Bar & Lounge
University District, (206) 522-5334
The Kraken Bar & Lounge is not only a great venue for local punk/metal shows, but they also make fantastic food!” – Jeff Mangalin (Four Lights, The Subjunctives)

Locöl Barley & Vine
West Seattle, (206) 708-7725
“Best vibe, best tacos (in my humble and correct opinion), best staff. And they let me play there every fourth Tuesday of the month. The place is a gem in this town.” – Art Lipatan (Lyle, Arthur James)

Chiang’s Gourmet
Lake City, (206) 527-8888
Chiang’s Gourmet on Lake City Way has the best hand-pulled noodles, Beef Noodle soup, Chao Dofu…you name it. So good.” – Kelly Fleek (The Spider Ferns)

El Chupacabra Greenwood
Greenwood, (206) 706-4889
El Chupacabra Greenwood has great vegan Mexican food!! And Matt Hassler will make you a hell of a cocktail.” – Peter Donovan (All The Real Girls)
