Every year, local record label Freakout Records curates a late-fall festival in varying neighborhoods throughout the city. This year’s Freakout Festival hunkered down in Ballard and featured venues Tractor Tavern, The Sunset Tavern, Conor Byrne Pub, C.C. Filson, Salmon Bay Eagles, Lagunitas, Sonic Boom, and Caffe Umbria. Over the course of two days, November 16th and 17th, 58 artists performed.

Smokey Brights played an acoustic set at C.C. Filson.

Normally a quartet, only Smokey Brights songwriters Kim West (left) and Ryan Devlin performed at Freakout Fest.
Smokey Brights has played festivals all around town including Bumbershoot, Sasquatch!, and Capitol Hill Block Party.

Ray brought in multiple guest artists throughout his set, including JusMoni, who performed just before Ray at the Tractor Tavern.
Ray was also joined by a DJ.

Watercolor, Ray's latest album, came out in March 2017.

Los Blenders played Caffe Umbria.
The four-piece punk band came to Seattle all the way from Mexico City.
Los Blenders were featured on KEXP in 2016.
Los Blenders have over 25,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Koga Shabazz took the stage at Lagunitas.
Shabazz performed with a DJ, a drummer/bassist, and a backup vocalist.
The local hip hop artist released his first album, Overture to the Unknown, in October 2017.
Shabazz released the follow up to Overture to the Unknown, Murder Me!, a year later in October 2018.
Golden Idols played an early set at C.C. Filson.
The quartet makes spooky-surf, indie-rock.

Kitty Crimes performed at The Sunset Tavern.
Hailing from Denver, Kitty Crimes gives energy to every performance.
Maria Kohler, who performed solo with a backing track, is Kitty Crimes.
Kitty Crimes dabbles in many genres, from hip hop to goth to pop.
At one point during her set, Crimes flung foam from her beer into the crowd.
JusMoni performed the second set of the night at Tractor Tavern.
JusMoni performed with a backing track as well as live keys, drums, guitar, and a backup vocalist.
JusMoni brings in Cambodian and African influences to her sound.
The soul songstress wooed the crowd with her r&b vocal stylings.
