Prior to the pandemic, North Star Diner was a 24/7 establishment, home to huevos rancheros, BLTs, and boozy milkshakes. Still home to their large smattering of menu options, the diner, according to their website, now serves food from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and drinks from 4 p.m. – 2 a.m. Wednesday through Monday (it’s closed on Tuesdays).
The Shanghai Room at the diner used to host nightly karaoke, which has since been suspended due to the pandemic. The diner said they’re working on getting karaoke rolling again, but they’re unsure on a timeline. In the meantime, the stage isn’t going completely unused. Jazz-pop musician Spence Hood, singer-songwriter Anthony Lee Phillips, and soul vocalist and songwriter Morgan Paris Lanza played to a sold-out crowd on July 29.
